Zain logo exposed to a global audience tuned into Bahrain’s motor racing event

- Hits on Zain corporate website soar 600%; social media engagements and viewers rocket

- Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 cars & team prominently branded Zain

- Brand promotional activities highlights the launch of 4G LTE in Bahrain

Kuwait City, Manama – 22 April, 2013

To further highlight Zain Bahrain’s historic launch of superfast 4G LTE broadband services in the Kingdom, Zain took advantage of its Vodafone partner agreement, branding the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing cars and team distinctively with the Zain logo during the ‘Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix’. This opportunity further enhanced Zain’s global brand awareness as a worldwide audience viewed last Saturday’s qualifying session and Sunday’s race.

Notably for Zain Group, the company’s digital presence received an astounding boost as the corporate website saw a 600% increase in average daily hits. Comparably, engagements and views on the company’s social media channels – Facebook, Twitter and YouTube soared over a four-day period pre and post Sunday’s race.

Zain Group’s non-equity Partner Market Agreement with Vodafone Group that began in September 2012, entails Vodafone cooperating with Zain’s operations in Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to provide customers enhanced telephony and marketing services. Zain is also the preferred partner of Vodafone in respect to the agreed areas of cooperation.

To mark Zain Bahrain’s 4G LTE launch in the Kingdom, Zain also produced an entertaining TV commercial that featured 2009 world motor racing champion Jenson Button. In the lead up to the motor racing event, both Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing drivers, Jenson Button and Sergio Perez participated in a variety of promotional events to support and enhance the launch of 4G LTE services by Zain Bahrain.
