    Mr Chris Gabriel - Chief Executive Officer, Zain in Africa

    Commencing December 1, 2007 Chris Gabriel was appointed CEO of Zain Africa. In such a vital role, he will oversee all Zain's 15 operations in Africa that currently serve over 40 million active customers representing two-thirds of Zain's total customer base. Previous to this appointment, Chris was Chief Officer of ACE, from May 2007, where he was accountable for defining, executing and delivering Zain’s Global ACE Strategy (Accelerate, Consolidate and Expand); leading and managing the Group’s international and regional IPO’sBusiness Transformation and Performance Improvement.

    Steve Torode, Chief Operating Officer, Central Africa Region

    Since August 2006 he has held the position of Chief Operating Officer responsible for the countries under the Central and East Africa Region including Zambia, Malawi, Gabon and Sierra Leone.     Ihab El Fouly, MD of Zain Gabon

    Ihab El Fouly was appointed MD of Zain Gabon in October 2009 moving from Madagascar where he occupied the same role since December 2007. He is fluent in Arabic, English and French and was born in 1965 in Alexandria, Egypt. His passion for corporate culture and management lead hum to become a Management and Human Resources specialist and he joined Skopos International as consultant in coaching, performance management and organization change management where he worked from 2004 to 2006. He was keen to implement his knowledge and ideas on the ground and as a result was integrated the MTC Group – Zain in October 2006 as Director of Organization Development.

    Philip Sowah, Country Manager of Zain in Ghana

    Prior to joining Zain Ghana in early 2008, Philip was the Chief Officer of Onetouch (now Vodafone Ghana). Philip has more than 20 years Senior Management experience in telecommunications, information technology and management consulting with Big 5 and Fortune 500 companies.     Fayaz King, MD of Zain in Malawi

    Fayaz King was appointed Managing Director of Zain Malawi in April 2008. He holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Studies (Honors) degrees from the University of Zimbabwe as well a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing United Kingdom. Fayaz started his career with the company as the Marketing Director of Zain Uganda in May 2006 before moving to Nigeria as General Manager Lagos Mainland and later General Manager North Central.

    Khaled Muhtadi has over twenty years of experience in leading and directing international mobile telecommunications and information technology operations in the US, Middle East, and Africa. In August 2008 Khaled Muhtadi was appointed Managing Director of Zain Tanzania. Prior to that he was CEO of Zain Sudan where, during two years, he oversaw the company’s commercial transformation from a government owned company into a vibrant and competitive mobile telecom operator with over 4.6 million customers and over $900 million of annual revenues.

    Tsiresy Randriamampionona, Acting MD of Zain Madagascar

    With over 14 years in the telecommunications industry, Mr Tsiresy Randriamampionona has taken over the reigns as Acting MD of Zain Madagascar since October 2009. He joined the existing mobile operation in November 2000 rising the ranks very quickly. Previously to this new role, he was the Marketing Director of the operation since March 2009 and before that the Public Relations & Regulatory Affairs Director at Zain Madagascar. Mr Randriamampionona has a Masters Degree in Business Management (DHESAE) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (DSSAE) from the National Institute for Certified Accounting and Business Administration (INSCAE).
