Claude Bassil, GM of mtc touch (Lebanon)
Claude Bassil has over 18 years of progressive experience in the Telecom and high tech sector including IT and telecom management. As of January 2008, Claude was assigned as the General Manager of mtc touch Lebanon where he first worked as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) than as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
Claude Bassil cumulates a Bachelor Degree in Telecommunication Engineering from “L’Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Beyrouth”, an MBA in Corporate Finance from the American University of Beirut and a Post Graduate Certificate in Consumer Marketing from the prestigious INSEAD in France.
In 1994, Claude occupied the position of Assistant Marketing Director, Head of Products & Services at FTML (Cellis), France Telecom – Lebanon. In 1997 he joined Vodafone Group Worldwide where he worked for more than four years in various mobile operations affiliated to the Group across the globe.
His first experience with Vodafone was at Eircell, currently Vodafone Ireland, where he was appointed as the Marketing Project Manager. Later on, Claude was assigned in Romania to work in the Mobifon SA startup, a Vodafone/TIW consortium, as the IT and Marketing Project Director.
Bassil’s next stop was in Egypt where he served as the Principle Consultant and Project Manager in Systems Integration for another Vodafone startup operation before heading to Hungary to handle his new position as Principle Consultant and Solution Architect.
Claude closed the first chapter of his professional life with Vodafone Group after he was assigned in Kenya as the Billing Manager and Principle Consultant where he assisted the CEO in the startup operation of Safaricom Ltd-Kenya.
In 2001, Bassil joined giant Orascom Telecom in Cairo as Group IT Director. His valuable experience and diversified knowledge in the field allowed him to play a key-role in the establishment of two of Orascom’s GSM operations, Sabafone in Yemen and OT-Tunisia.
In October 2003, Claude took another leap in his professional career when he joined MTC-Vodafone Bahrain as the Senior Billing and Settlement Manager, a step that paved the road to many successes, the last of which was his assignment as the General Manager of mtc touch, Lebanon.
