Elfatih M. Erwa, Managing Director of Zain Sudan

The Managing Director of Zain Sudan is known for a vast and colorful working experience, and since Elfatih Mohamed Ahmed Erwa is a prominent figure in the Sudan for engaging in different official posts, it is appropriate here to shed a few lights on the man's history and life achievements
 
Erwa joined the University of Khartoum as a student in the Faculty of Economics and Social Studies, and then he moved to the Military College to graduate in 1970.
 
He then worked in the Air Defense Forces and attended several training courses in Electronics, Radar and Artillery in Sudan and UK,
 
Erwa served as an Instructor in Sudan Military College prior to joining the National Security Services in 1976 where he served till 1985. During that period he attended several professional training courses in Intelligence, Technical operations and Strategic Studies, nationally and in the USA.
 
Erwa served as Consul General in the Embassies of Sudan in Moscow (Ex Soviet Union) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) during the period of 1977 to 1984.
 
General Erwa holds an Airline Transport Pilot License (APTL), and a helicopter Pilot license. He worked in the private sector in the aviation field from 1986-1987. In 1988-1989 he worked for the Government of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a research officer specialized in the Horn of Africa affairs
 
Erwa returned back to the service in the Government of Sudan in 1989 and was appointed a State Minister in the Presidency of the Republic of Sudan as National Security Advisor to the President during the period of 1989 to 1995, then a State Minister of Defense 1995-1996.
 
Erwa then was appointed an Ambassador as Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations in New York, from 1996 till 2005, which is the longest period for an Ambassador in that post throughout the history of Sudan, dealing with the biggest challenges that faced the Nation ever. He was highly recognized and decorated by the President as well as promoted by a presidential decree for the excellent and outstanding performance and achievements throughout his Service. During his service he developed wealth of regional and international relations.
 
Ambassador Erwa then practiced private Consultancy business from 2006 till July 5th 2008, when he was appointed the Managing Director for Zain Sudan.
