Omar Al Omar, Acting CEO of Zain Kuwait
Omar Saud Al-Omar has been appointed acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zain Kuwait, effective October 13, 2011. Prior to this, he was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Zain Kuwait and before that the company’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) from March 2011.
Between 2005 and early 2010, Al-Omar held the position of Zain Group Internal Audit Director, a critical role in the management’s senior ranks given the company’s significant expansion during this period, one in which it operated in 23 countries across the Middle East and Africa.
Al-Omar joined Zain (then MTC) in September 2001, having worked previously in an internal audit capacity in the Kuwait Investment Authority. Al-Omar holds a bachelor degree in Computer Science from California State University.
Al-Omar is also a Certified Internal Auditor from The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA); a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) a credential awarded by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
